Time can slow down to a tortoise carrying a knapsack on his back
Sometimes I wish he would slow down and wait up for me
Love can fade away like the moon behind a series of clouds,
But if you wait long enough it'll come back around
Cross your heart and hope to die and maybe, baby, just maybe you will survive
I promise to take care of you for as long as I can
But if love were derived of empyreal could I still feel what I feel?
And would it live forever inside of me?
I guess you could say I'm a creature
Lurking anywhere where there's lack of humanity,
But I will not lurk or live without you
I know that we're doomed, but a promise is a promise
We'll live out our days building a home of solace,
And I will outlive you.
When our home is deserted and broken I hope to crumble with it
And find my place in life amongst the dirt
If we end catastrophic, then I'm not worth it
Pack your bags, baby you don't deserve it
A kiss on the cheek every now and then and I'll be fine.

Death, To Me

Got off of work one night; laid in bed and fell asleep
Had a dream about dragons and sorcery
And you were in it. You were as pretty as can be.
You unsheathed your sword and asked me if I were ready
Felt the plunge, and when I awoke there was
A hole in my body
Next night laid on the couch and watched T.V.
Turned the channel to an old black and white movie
And we were in it. You were as pretty as can be.
Your cheeks were like charcoal and satin. It felt just like a dream,
But when I turned my back you had a gun and you shot
A hole in my body
Next night I was scared to fall asleep
‘Kept anticipating the next scenario and how it would be,
But when I blinked, I was standing by a stream.
You were behind me as pretty as can be.
I was kickin’, but I couldn’t keep myself—
Keep myself from sinkin’
Last night I was more than ready
To confront the beautiful grim reaper of my dreams.
I was determined not to be put to death,
But you weren’t there. I was in a room with a small chest,
And inside was a letter written from you to me
It said, “Your boldness and bravery
Has brought death to me.

Come on, Mr. Dawson, don't lie to yourself anymore
We all know a man who lives in bad faith, a lie in every pour
Got a gun in your mouth and it's always shooting blanks
And the smoke around your mouth is telling me:
Everybody makes mistakes
Come on, Mr. Dawson, don't lie to yourself anymore
You've deceived the masses now let's see you deceive a mirror
Well, your eyes start to blur and your lips start to shake
But then you tackle your composure and you say:
Everybody makes mistakes
Come on, Mr Dawson, you still don't have a clue
You dramatize and fictionalize the stories that make up you
The audience watches in awe as your character starts to break
And as your make-up starts to bleed the chorus screams:
Everybody makes mistakes!

Sleep Spent

“You eyes make everything clear,
Juxtaposed against the skyline.
When it rains you pour, and you think I don’t know.
But I know, oh I know, exactly who you are.
Your voice resonates all across the corridors.
Each syllable springs from the walls, and you think I don’t know
But I know, oh I know, exactly how you feel
Broken light is filtered through the leaves
And they pattern themselves on your face
This is the day in which Shadows formed around your shape
My words fall on deaf ears
My memories are partly forged with my own hopes
Though I made up a memory, it still belongs to me
You are sleep spent in my life.”
